A previous winner of the CAMRA/English Heritage Pub Design Awards, this Joule's brewery tap was a former coaching inn built in 1623. Its unique features include an illuminated well in the main bar, the mouse-room, a Robert Thompson inspired function room with carved mice. Log fires and oak beams create a comfortable atmosphere where locally sourced food can be consumed from the extensive menu along with the Joules range of beers produced in the adjacent brewery. An adjacent pub building is now part of the complex, called The Stag at the Brewery, used for private functions. Joules now owns a vineyard in France and details of this can be seen at the pub.
